Wally Allen is the Managing Partner of Beechwood Hospitality, a Little Rock, Arkansas based hospitality company. During his career, he has owned, managed and developed hotels and restaurants across the South and Southeast United States, working with well-known franchisors such as Hilton, Marriott, InterContinental Hotels Group, Choice, Ramada, Denny’s, Backyard Burgers, Sporting News Grill and others.
Wally began his hospitality service working the front desk during his college years and has worked in every facet of the hospitality industry throughout his career. His hands-on approach to learning and managing has been the key to his successful leadership of this very effective and profitable hotel company.
During his career in the hospitality industry, he has served on many local, national and international boards and committees including Chairman of the IAHI, the International Franchise Owners’ Association of InterContinental Hotels Group. He also served as Chairman of the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau for twelve years, overseeing convention space more than double under his leadership. Convention and visitor numbers reached an all-time high during this time, highlighted by numerous visits from both President Bill Clinton and President George W. Bush. In light of his accomplishments, the Little Rock Convention Center’s Ballroom has been named in his honor.
Blair Allen is a partner of Beechwood Hospitality. Blair has been in the hospitality business for more than two decades, and has developed, owned, and managed hotels across the Southeast. Blair is a graduate of Washington & Lee University and earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Walton School of Business at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. He began his career in commercial lending with Regions Bank, and at Worthen Bank (Bank of America).
Blair is a director on the board of Centennial Bank, Central Arkansas Region. He is a committee member of the InterContinental Hotels Group, IHG Technology Task Force and the Crowne Plaza Committee. He has served on several industry boards that have enhanced his knowledge of the hospitality industry, serving on the Board of the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Arkansas Hospitality Association board, serving as Chair of the Real Estate Committee. He was a Board Member of Lodgian, a publicly traded hotel company with hotel assets across the United States.
Blair’s banking and finance experience along with his years of community and industry board service offers him a strong working knowledge in the financial, and sales and marketing interests of Beechwood Hospitality. Blair and his team of experienced and professional support staff have proven to be successful in selling all aspects of the company’s hotel interests. They are experienced in branded and independent hotels as well as both select service and full service hotels. This success, combined with their acute understanding of revenue management and third party intermediaries, has allowed them to make Beechwood Hospitality a financial success.
Matthew Allen is a partner in Beechwood Hospitality, with dealings from hotel design and construction to real estate management. He is also a partner in Majestic Group, which has numerous investment properties and rental units. Matthew’s role with Beechwood Hospitality includes management of all capital expenditures, including the remodeling and construction of hotels as well as the upkeep and occupancy of all investment properties.
Matthew has been with the company for more than 15 years. During his college career he worked as an intern in the Public Liaison office of the White House. Upon his return to Little Rock he worked at the Rose Law Firm before joining the family business to continue the tradition of service started by his grandfather in 1958.
Since joining Beechwood Hospitality, Matthew managed the remodeling and reflagging of the Crowne Plaza Little Rock. Following conversion from a Holiday Inn-Select to a Crowne Plaza, the hotel won the Remodel of the Year Award, Modernization Award, and the Priority Club Members Choice Award. He has overseen the development and construction of several hotel projects as well as the renovation and reflagging of both company-owned and company-managed properties. Matthew is continuously exploring opportunities for new developments.
