Beechwood Hospitality Grows Despite Industry Downturn

As a Mississippi-based, hospitality management company, Beechwood Hospitality has seen its share of economic cycles during its 64 years of service. Much like our regional economy, a company’s business strategy of “slow and steady” is beneficial in weathering the storm. Fortunately, Beechwood Hospitality has found a competitive tolerance for quick swings in demand while maintaining a strong service culture.

After a quick response to COVID’s devastating impact on travel, Beechwood Hospitality began being recognized by industry players as a safe harbor for their hospitality investments. As a result, Beechwood Hospitality has continued to grow with the addition of seven hotels to its third-party management portfolio in the last six months.

“Our various corporate disciplines have excelled in demonstrating how differentiation delivers results,” stated Micajah Sturdivant, President of Beechwood Hospitality Hotel Group. The portfolio of Beechwood Hospitality-managed hotels exceeded their individual competitive sets’ performance by 28% last month.

In response to this continued growth, the corporate team has expanded to include:
  • Gary Schultz, Regional Director of Operations
  • Carrie Burleson, Regional Director of Revenue Management
  • Christen Salmi-Padgett, Portfolio Accountant
All three of these new hires come from industry-leading hotel management companies seeking a disciplined, principled firm where they plan to retire. Mississippi is on the move and hospitality will always be a bedrock of its economy. Fortunately, Beechwood Hospitality, formerly named Mississippi Management, Inc., continues its legacy of attracting guests, partners, and team members alike.
